About Chanakya Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution
The Chanakya Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CCADR) has been established at Chanakya National Law University, Patna, in the year 2021, with the objective to promote academic research on themes pertaining to the resolution of disputes.
With the establishment of this research centre, we aim to develop a congenial environment for students and researchers to further their interest in ADR, which enables skill development and helps us compete at the national and international levels. CCADR will strive to promote Lok Adalat as an indigenous means of the dispute resolution process, involve in the policy framework related to ADR, and encourage law students to take up activities in the field of ADR by conducting competitions, workshops, and encouraging research. CCADR will conduct certification, online training, diploma/degree programs, and specialized courses in the field of ADR.
About the Guest Lecture
The lecture is a vision of CCADR to provide a platform to students as well as young practitioners to learn from the experience of ADR, such as Arbitration, Mediation, and Negotiation experts.

Speaker: Ms. Carishma Singh, Assistant Professor of Law

Ms. Carishma Singh is an Assistant Professor of Law. She is also a passionate researcher and an internationally qualified Mediator. Her main area of research is Matrimonial Mediation, and her work has been published in journals of repute and books edited by senior professors and reputed publishers. She is also on the Editorial advisory boards of international Academic Publishing houses like Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
As a believer in lifelong learning, she is currently exploring the sphere of conflict processes and intervention from the transformative framework through involvement with Face Labs conducted by renowned mediator Carol Bloom and membership at the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation. As an avid believer in Mediation, she is also a member of professional bodies involved with the promotion of dispute resolution in India, like Mediate Guru and ADR Bar. She has been invited as a judge/ expert assessor in reputed mediation competitions like Bucerius Mediation Competition, organized by Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, Germany, Lex Infinitum International Dispute Resolution Competition, organized by V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Goa etc.
